I currently run my business full time and I am available 7 day's a week, all year round.
Here at Lead The Way I can help take some of the guilt and stress away
from leaving your dog at home. So no matter what your reasons are whether it's because
of work, day's out or other obligations, you want your dog taken care of
with the same love and attention you give them.

I am a independently run business so every time you make a booking
it will be myself that you will be dealing directly with and so therefore
I would be able to automatically confirm your booking.
Also It will be myself that will be walking and forming a bond with your dog.
I offer one to one dog walking on or off lead*
The reason why I offer one to one dog walking is so I can focus on ' your' dog.
Of course if you do have more than one dog within your household
I am more than happy to walk them together.(For a Small extra charge)

I have found that some dog's response is better to one to one walks.
I have a few clients who's dog needs to be kept on a lead for a variety of reasons,
some of which include, the fact they are young puppies and need constant attention,
correction and or reassurance.
Other are walked through a built up area, and or afraid of other dog's,
I even have had quite a few dog's on my books that have just been re homed
so need time to adjust and settle into their new environment.
I am used to using all different types of head collars, harnesses and leads.
I like to think every dog is unique and they all have different needs and personalities
just like us!
Dog's are funny creatures, as they always seem to know when it's 'their time 'as a majority of the dog's I walk seem to sense my arrival, some dog's I can even hear before I see them!!
I love the fact that every hour as I enter one of my clients homes
I receive a warm and friendly welcome. My clients have told me that their dog
starts to prepare themselves for their walk by grabbing their favorite toy, having a stretch and running for a drink of water and then stand to attention at the front door waiting to greet me.
Client keys are individually coded and when not in use are kept in a secure location.
I am really enjoying working for myself.
It's hard work as I have to keep myself motivated and focused,
think of new places to advertise,
manage my books and most importantly walk all my client's dog's!
Initially I insist on a face to face meeting
to interact with your dog in his/her own environment.
I am more than happy to spend up to a hour bonding with your dog
and becoming acquainted with you.
The initial consultation is free of charge.
*Walks off lead are only for dogs with good recall and are friendly towards other dogs/people we might come across out on our walk together.

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself .
My name is Donna Hirst and If you're like me, your dog's past and present have become family member's.
I have grown up with a variety of dog's and small animals within my family, my circle of friends and colleagues.
I have been a active member of the RSPCA since I was 12 years old and donate on a regular basis,
and I have taken part in fund raising
and have even organised my own fund raising events.
I have a great love of all animals big and small and in the past I have worked within a zoo environment, farm and a small animal shelter.

Prices Are As Followed.
£14 Per Hour Per Dog,
2 Dogs From The Within The Same Household £18.
30 Minute Walks £10 Per Dog Per Household,
2 Or More Dogs Is A Extra £4 Per Dog.
20 Minute Pop ins £8 Per Household.
Offering 'one to one' dog walking on or off lead* or I can do very small group walks. Along with dog walking active play is encouraged either by ball games, tuggy games, hide-and-seek. I am happy to continue training you may have started with your dog. While out on our walks together so of the commands I often use are 'leave ' 'steady' 'wait' I also have a safe word I use if I need to call a off lead dog back to me quickly. where possible I like to get dogs either sitting or standing to wait for bikes, joggers etc. to pass by before we carry on with our walk. I normally walk my clients dogs around the area in which the dogs live in, I try to find different routes to take and am always prepared willies wise! if I need to walk across fields through wooded areas. I am happy to put on any coats, jumpers harnesses on your dog before any walks. I am happy to provide poop bags. Please do leave out a towel for paws and a quick rub down. I can spit the hour up so we do say a 40 minute walk and 20 minutes playing, training in the garden or just a bit of fuss this may suit a young dog or a senior dog. I am more than happy to send you a text update after each walk. Please contact me if you have any additional requirements as I can tailer make to suit yours and your dogs needs. I can also offer short term walks like for example if you are away and have someone staying at your house who for whatever reason is unable to walk your dogs I am more than happy to come in once or twice a day to walk the dogs on your behalf.
*off lead walks are only for dogs with good recall and are friendly toward other dogs and people we might meet whilst out on our walks.
I have had a change in circumstance last month due to one of my much loved labs passed away. Baxter has left a big whole in my life and its with a heavy heart I can resign his walking slots. which are Monday, Wednesday, Friday for up to a one hour walk at 1pm.
To cancel any pre arranged dog walks or visits a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. any cancellations made after this time will be charged at normal rate. I am lucky in the sense that I mainly work from client and friend referrals and have a lot of repeat customers. Please feel free to contact me and book in a free no oblation consultation, where I can come and meet you and to spend a little time with your dog so we can get to know each other. I like to think over the years I have built up a good re pore with my clients and would like to be given the chance to do the same with yourself. Payment: I email invoices on the last working day of each month for all my regular clients, clients that use my service as a one off I require the payment before the start date of the period I am needed for. Payment can me made in the form of a bank transfer. I do try hard to keep my prices completive as possible and alway appreciate repeat business and clients that recommend me to family, friends and acquaintances. If you do have any time off work or holidays booked throughout the year some advanced noticed would be very much appreciated.
