I currently run my business full time and I am available 7 day's a week, all year round.
Here at Lead The Way I can help take some of the guilt and stress away
from leaving your dog at home. So no matter what your reasons are whether it's because
of work, day's out or other obligations, you want your dog taken care of
with the same love and attention you give them.
That's exactly where Lead The Way come in. Because I love pets!

I am a independently run business so every time you make a booking
it will be myself that you will be dealing directly with and so therefore
I would be able to automatically confirm your booking.
Also It will be myself that will be walking and forming a bond with your dog.
I offer one to one dog walking on or off lead*
The reason why I offer one to one dog walking is so I can focus on ' your' dog.
Of course if you do have more than one dog within your household
I am more than happy to walk them together.(For a Small extra charge)

I have found that some dog's response is better to one to one walks.
I have a few clients who's dog needs to be kept on a lead for a variety of reasons,
some of which include, the fact they are young puppies and need constant attention,
correction and or reassurance.
Other are walked through a built up area, and or afraid of other dog's,
I even have had quite a few dog's on my books that have just been re homed
so need time to adjust and settle into their new environment.
I am used to using all different types of head collars, harnesses and leads.
I like to think every dog is unique and they all have different needs and personalities
just like us!
Dog's are funny creatures, as they always seem to know when it's 'their time 'as a majority of the dog's I walk seem to sense my arrival, some dog's I can even hear before I see them!!
I love the fact that every hour as I enter one of my clients homes
I receive a warm and friendly welcome. My clients have told me that their dog
starts to prepare themselves for their walk by grabbing their favorite toy, having a stretch and running for a drink of water and then stand to attention at the front door waiting to greet me.
Client keys are individually coded and when not in use are kept in a secure location.
I am really enjoying working for myself.
It's hard work as I have to keep myself motivated and focused,
think of new places to advertise,
manage my books and most importantly walk all my client's dog's!
Initially I insist on a face to face meeting
to interact with your dog in his/her own environment.
I am more than happy to spend up to a hour bonding with your dog
and becoming acquainted with you.
The initial consultation is free of charge.
*Walks off lead are only for dogs with good recall and are friendly towards other dogs/people we might come across out on our walk together.

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself .
My name is Donna Hirst and If you're like me, your dog's past and present have become family member's.
I have grown up with a variety of dog's and small animals within my family, my circle of friends and colleagues.
I have been a active member of the RSPCA since I was 12 years old and donate on a regular basis,
and I have taken part in fund raising
and have even organised my own fund raising events.
I have a great love of all animals big and small and in the past I have worked within a zoo environment, farm and a small animal shelter.

Donna has been walking our two dogs on an ad hoc basis for a couple of years now.
I try to be organised and send over a list of dates ahead of time but often end up making last minute changes. Donna is thankfully always very accommodating. Donna pops in in the morning, feeds the dogs and takes them for their morning walk, its wonderful to have someone who is so reliable and trustworthy to walk the dogs when we are away.

She comes to our house to feed him either once or twice a day while we are away, and very kindly also waters our plants, opens and closes the curtains, as necessary, and ensures that the house is safely secured. Donna has looked after our cat Kitty for the last four years when we go away for a week.
She is totally reliable with our house keys and Kitty is always pleased to see her.
She feeds him twice a day, gives him biscuits and talks to him.

I moved to Milton Keynes in February 2015 and Donna started walking my 6 year old rescue Labrador Tammy almost straight away, I am disabled and walking the dog was difficult and tiring. Tammy loves Donna and always looks forward to her coming. In June 2015 I acquired two house cats which Donna looks after if I go away. Most recently my partner and I got a cocker spaniel puppy named Logan (I love animals btw in case you hadn’t guessed!) Donna has just started taking Logan for a walk with Tammy and now we have both dogs watching the door before Donna comes!

If I tell you a little bit about our dog Tango a 4 yr old German
shep/collie cross who is a handful to say the least, he pulls on the
led needs a halti, lunges at bikes and joggers and all the neighbours
knew when he was off for his walk. Donna and Tango bonded well and she
was able to handle him, he would wait at the door for her wagging his
tail. Donna was professional and courtesy, she would give Tango water
and treats at the end of the walk I was extremely happy with Donna and
trusted her with my beloved baby, I would be happy to speak to anyone

My Wife and I used the services of dog walking specialist Donna for a period of eight day's in early March 2011
and in our opinion she provided an excellent service,
walking our two dogs for a hour each morning and feeding them afterward.
Donna is of a very pleasant disposition and is obviously an experienced dog handler

I think like most we were a bit nervous about leaving our beloved family pet with a stranger for the first time.
However, from the moment we saw our puppy Millie and Donna together we knew we'd found the ideal person to take care of her. Now when we're away and millie's with Donna we can completely relex because we know she's not only being fed, watered and walked, but is also getting lots of fuss and cuddles too!

Donna has started to walk my dog Cola for me and it is a relief to have someone I can trust with my dog
and also my house key, Donna turns up when she says shes going to
and is very good with the animals who seem to love her.
It's great to have someone like Donna as sometimes we are out all day and it's not fair on Cola
so Donna pops in and walks Cola.

Having Donna look after Zoe took the guilt and stress out of going on holiday.
First of all there would be the fight trying to get her into the travel box,
then all the way to cattery she would be crying.
Having Donna come to the house took away this stress,
and it was a more relaxing experience for both us and for Zoe.
We have used Donna both to house sit with Zoe and also to come in and Feed her when we were away overnight.
On return both times we found a happy cat who had been well looked after in her own home.
Donna is completely trustworthy and looked after our home whilst she was there.

Donna has stayed in my house many times.
She has to look after three cats and one dog for varying times from three to fourteen nights.
She keeps the house tidy and waters plants.
Then animals love her as she gives them lots of personal attention and takes the dog for walks.
I found that Donna is extremely trustworthy and I have no hesitation in recommending her.

Donna Has looked after my pets while i have been on holiday, and obviously made a good impression on my dogs, as they are so excited to see her when she visits....and expect to get walked when she comes round.
I would recommend her to anyone who wants to go away and leave there pets and house in safe hands.

Donna is the only person I would leave my dog and 3 cats with.
Donna looks after them so well as when we come home they get depressed!
My dog is 14 years old but still goes for walks and Donna knows just how far Mitzy is able to walk.
If Donna pop's in for a cuppa Mitzy, gets all excited as she thinks it 'walkie's time'
My pets are cuddled and loved the same as I know Donna would treat her own.
I away feel better going away knowing that my home and pets are looked after really well.

We have been having Donna looking after our girls ( two Bearded collies) for the past three years.
This has been a godsend because without Donna's help we would not have been able to go on holiday.
It is so re- assuring to go away knowing that our girls are being so well looked after,
